CPM Showcases Revolutionary Direct Drive (DD), High-Capacity Pellet Mill at LIGNA 2025

Amsterdam, the Netherlands — CPM, the world’s leading pellet mill manufacturer and provider of process equipment, is proud to unveil the PM1200DD, the first of its kind in the alternative fuel industry, at LIGNA 2025 in Hannover, Germany.

Designed for demanding applications, this innovative pellet mill is built to handle the toughest pelleting requirements, offering unmatched energy efficiency, performance, and reliability.

The new CPM Direct Drive pellet mill is engineered to process a wide range of biomass feedstocks, including agricultural residues and woody biomass. Unlike conventional systems, the Direct Drive technology eliminates the need for a gearbox or V-belt, making it the most advanced and energy-efficient pellet mill ever brought into the market.

‘’At LIGNA 2025, we will reveal our newest pellet mill technology, the PM1200DD,” said Alvaro Timotheo, President, CPM Industrial Solutions “This machine truly represents the next evolution in pelleting technology. With energy savings, enhanced performance, and simplified maintenance, this innovative machine is set to transform the industry,’’

CPM retained FutureMetrics, the leading consultancy firm in the wood pellet sector, to analyze CPM’s Direct Drive pellet mill onsite at a customer facility in October 2024. “We highly recommend the Direct Drive pellet mill to our clients,” said John Swaan, Senior Operations Expert, FutureMetrics. “The Direct Drive would be a game-changer for those wood pellet producers who are struggling to maintain consistent uptime with problematic high-opex cost pellet mills.”
